6 Ways To Get Better At Reading Minds

12505301425_98baf1b345_zWho hasn’t wished they could read minds at least once in their lives?  Wouldn’t it be nice sometimes to know what others are thinking? What if you could have that 6th sense so you could really know what is on people’s minds? Although this may sound wonderful to tap into other people’s thoughts, we might not think it’s so fantastic to think about others reading our own minds, as sometimes we may not want out thoughts broadcast to the world.

Still, everyone has some intuitive ability which can help tap into what others may be thinking, but there are relatively few who can really tap into such power. Have you ever been thinking of someone and they called or text you? Have you had a sense that someone was lying to you and you were right? Those are instances where intuition or a 6th sense is in operation. Today, let’s discuss various tips that will help you tap into other people’s thoughts.

  1. Be completely open

Clear your mind and open up your spirit to those around you. If you have a tough time emptying your mind, consider taking up meditation as a daily practice. Even if you spend five minutes per day focusing on your breath and the present moment, you’ll be quieting your own mind and harnessing your focus. In order to read someone else’s mind, you’ll need to open your spirit and be present in that moment. Focus on feeling the energy associated with the particular moment and person involved.

  1. See the energy

You want to look at the person that you’re trying to read, but don’t just focus on the material aspect of him or her. See the energy surrounding them. It’s sort of like seeing, but not seeing with your natural eyes, but your sixth sense. It’s expanding your awareness to the mind, body, spirit, and aura of that person.

  1. Make eye contact

Once you’ve tuned into the energy surrounding the person, make direct eye contact for 10 to 15 seconds. This may seem like a long time, but it’s important to make that connection. Some say the eyes are the gateway to the soul, or in this case, the mind and the soul. Don’t stare for more than 15 seconds or you may struggle with you or the other person becoming uncomfortable. Look away and then visualize that person and begin to scan within to see if you get a sense of something.

  1. Make small talk

Begin a conversation with small talk and then you can delve into more of the mind reading and letting them know what is passing through you.  Don’t be afraid to ask them if you are correct in your reading, as you want to be sure that you are getting correct information. Remember that mind reading takes practice and you may not always be 100 percent accurate. That’s alright. Practice as often as you can and you’ll get better.

  1. Pay attention to your emotions

If you’re feeling a particular emotion, it very well could be that the person is feeling that same emotion. For example, if you’re feeling anger but you’re not angry about something, it could be that the person has angry thoughts and feelings about something and that’s what you’re picking up on. It’s alright to ask the person if they are feeling a certain emotion and tell them why. Let them know you’re feeling it as well and that may be due to the fact that you’re tapping into their energy field. Keep in mind that some people have a tough time recognizing their feelings. They may be dealing with anxiety and be so used to it that they don’t even notice.  This could allow you to dig deeper and maybe even help them get to the root of their negative emotions.

  1. Listen intently

You’ll need to cultivate fabulous listening skills and be able to process what they are saying, keeping in mind that there may be things underlying what they are saying. For example, if someone is talking about dreading the rest of their day, listen intently and then ask several questions to perhaps get to the root of that issue. Pay attention to what you’re feeling, as you may pick up on an emotion that they’re putting out there regarding the situation.

Reading minds can become easier and easier with practice. As you try this out on your family and friends, you’ll get more comfortable with it, so when you step out to reading a stranger’s mind, you’ll be less likely to allow anxiousness to skew your reading.  Enjoy the process of cultivating your ability to read minds. It ought to be fun!
